Do we Measure Calories?

We eat to have energy but how much energy we need? How can we measure energy? Our daily successful life is ferformed by our mental and physical energy and this why we to know how we get energy and how much we need. Calorie is the unit of measurement of energy. Energy is essential to meets our bodies basic metablism, to compensate for the excretory losses and for various physical activities. Our body gatheres and uses energgy from the conception unit we die and keeps ourselve alive. The human body uses energy even we the people are asleep. We can't measure energy but we can measure heat and this is to easy that by measuring heat we can measure energy. Energy may be in the various form and  such of heat chemical, electrical, mechanical or solar energy. The energy can be diverted or converted from one to another.

Now we to the point of Calorie. What is calorie? Calorie is the quantity of heat required to raise the temperature of 01 gm of water to 1degree C. The unit is used as kilocalorie which short form as kcal. 01 kilocalorie is measured as the due quantity of heat requred to raise the temperature of 01 kg of water to 01 degree C.

The energy value of foods can be expressed in terms of kilocalories.

1gm carbohydrate 4.1 Kilocalories
1gm protein 5.65 Kilocalories
1gm fat 9.45 Kilocalories

All the food energy may be available to the body when the food is used in the body. Small amount of energy is lost after digestion and absorption. A portion is lost in undigested food which is excreted. How much food energy available after loss in digestion is given below.

1gm Proteins 4 Kilocalories
1gm Fats 9 Kilocalories

Foods are naturally divided into various group. We have energy from from Calorie and we to know hao much Calorie contains in how kind of foods. Here are some example:

Home Manager Social responsibilities and duties

The family is a unit of the society and it is also a base unit of the society. Society helps a person to nurture his/her customs, idealism and social values. The social responsibilities and duties of a home manager involve associating herself and the other members of the family with several social organizations like Leo Clubs, Rotary Clubs, Girl Guides etc. and thereby making the family an integral part of social development.
It is also the duty of a home manager to encourage the family members in mixing with various people of the society and also to join with various programmes of the society. Side by side, she should teach the family members the social customs, manners and ideology and also encourage them to exercise those properly.

To encourage the family members in attending social development activities For the betterment of the society, the members of the family have to perform various activities. In this way social development is made. Now-a-days not only the educational institutions but various social organisations are also engaged in imparting education.

These social organisation are working together with government, non-government and international organisations. For example, Bangladesh Shisu Academy works for the intellectual development of children of different ages. The Mass Education Centre is providing education to the aged people. The Shandhani and the Red Crescent are engaged in different social activities and at the critical hours of the state perform special social services. Besides, as a cooperative organisation, many social organisations are engaged in diverse social development activities. So, it can be said that the responsibility of a home manager is to encourage the members of the family in participating in all these activities. It is also the duty of a home manger to create an opportunity for the members of the family to involve themselves with the social activities for the betterment of the society as well as for the family. This will help to develop social attitudes and rapport. In this way, a person can perform his/her duties as a social being.

To encourage the participation of the family members in national programmes It is the social duty of a home manager to encourage the family members to participate in various national programmes. It is the common responsibility of every citizen to become aware of the national programmes. The national programs like the Independence Day, the Victory day and the Amar Ekushay have special significance. The nation, along with various socio-cultural organisations, celebrate these days with
due honour and fevour. It helps to unfold national identity and heritage. So, in participating in all these programmes, the feeling of nationalism grows among the family members.
 To help become aware of various national activities

The right of voting is one of the fundamental national rights. Every citizen has the right to cast his or her votes. Moreover, for the betterment of every citizen, many roads, highways, clubs, playgrounds, sanitation facilities are being provided by the Duties and Responsibilities of a Home Manager 13
state. For enjoying all these facilities, it is also the duty of every citizen to preserve all these properly. For example, keeping roads neat and clean, protecting libraries and play grounds properly are the duties of a citizen.

So, every citizen should have proper knowledge of his/her duties and responsibilities. If he/she does not know all these, he/she will fail to carry out the responsibilities. In this regard, the responsibility of a home manager is immense. About the national programmes, the home manager should aware the family members beforehand so that as dutiful citizens they could ensure their presence in all the programmes and avail the rights of a citizen. If all these are done, we can rightly say that a home manager has been performing her social responsibilities well.

Local Govt Polls Should be Partisan-Hasina

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday said local government elections should be held in a partisan manner and laws in this regard should be amended.

“The way national election is held and election campaign is conducted, the same way, I think, the local government polls should be held,” she said while replying to a lawmaker's query during the PM's question-answer session in parliament.

Hasina said current local government elections are non-partisan in nature and there is no chance to give party nomination in the polls. But the results are counted in the name of a party.

Referring to local government elections held in the USA, the UK and India, the leader of the House said, “The lawmakers and I in parliament think the local government law needs to be amended so that elections to all local government level are held in a partisan manner and political parties can give nominations in the elections.”

The BNP on Wednesday demanded deployment of army troops during the upcoming city corporation polls in Dhaka and Chittagong.



A seven-member delegation of the BNP met the chief election commissioner, Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed, at around 3:00pm and raised the demand.

BNP standing committee member ASM Hanna Shah told reporters that they urged the CEC to ask the government to unlock the BNP's Nayapaltan central office and remove barriers from the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office.

How to decrease Traffic jam in Dhaka- some resolving way

Dhaka is the Capital City of Bangladesh and one of the most high populated city in the world. The traffic jam is the main problem of the city. The people of Dhaka is being suffering for long time from this bad jam and they are finding to get solution from it. Dhaka is very important city for the people of Bangladesh because most of the sources of income are here and the people of Dhaka to move several location daily. Here are some ipportant point to be considered highly to remove the traffic jam from the city Dhaka:

1. There are so many private Car in Dhaka moving roundly for several occations. When we watch and follow inside of the cars we get a look that 01 person is seated in the car. As the result only one person has one car on the busy road even most of the time we used to see that there are no person in the car but the car is on the road.

In this sicumstance the private car should be monitored highly and there cound be some selected VIP person to have the private car in Dhaka.


2. Rickshaw, CNG auto rickshaw and Taxi Cab to be banned in the main road and the auto rickshwa and Taxi Cab could be run only in the pocket road in the city.

There are several types of population in the city and there should be several types of bus service for the several types of people.  High quality Bus to be ran in the city for those who used go by private cars and the bus service must be highly monitored by the government specially timing schedule and interrior environment.

4. Metro rail could be the great solution for the people of Dhaka. The rail schedule to be monitored by high class officials.

5. Some point could be measured to make some new flyover.

6. There are a vast of place owend by Cantonment in the city Dhaka. The Cantonment area could be replaced beside the city and that will be a great solution to recover the traffic Jam in Dhaka.

7. To decrease Private cars in the city there should be increased the Tax on the car to import and the tax should be increased thousand times.


The above points are the some important way to get relief from traffic jam in Dhaka. There are many ways to reduce traffic Jam but if we follow the above points the Traffic Jam will go far from the City Dhaka.
