The BNP on Wednesday demanded deployment of army troops during the upcoming city corporation polls in Dhaka and Chittagong.



A seven-member delegation of the BNP met the chief election commissioner, Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed, at around 3:00pm and raised the demand.

BNP standing committee member ASM Hanna Shah told reporters that they urged the CEC to ask the government to unlock the BNP's Nayapaltan central office and remove barriers from the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office.
The delegation led BNP standing committee member Jamiruddin Sircar went to the election commission secretariat to place a set of demands aimed at securing level-playing field during the upcoming city corporation elctions.
